Publishing e-newsletters or ezines is a very attractive prospect these days. You not only get to share some valuable information, but can also earn good revenue by the way of advertisements. To test this, enquire about how quickly they respond. If the response takes more than 24 hours, you should stay away from the service. Just imagine how their service will be once they have your money! Also make sure how soon they would let you know if there is a problem with their service. Also try finding out if there are other businesses like yours doing business with them. If the major clients of the service are big businesses, then it is very much possible that a small business owner maybe neglected.  

Also check out the ease of use of the service. Do they have a simple interface wherein you can set-up and launch your ezines with least complications? It is also preferable to have the option of manually adding and removing people from the list, if you need to. You should also receive regular subscriber reports stating the number of subscribers that have joined/left the subscription since the last issue.
